As time changes the world and market of smartphones changes also. Before the period of budget smartphone they used to be dull and slow and their pricing was very expensive. Budget smartphones was introduced for middle class and lower class families because they cannot afford these expensive mobile phones. Today i am going to show you a comparison between newly launched budget smartphones Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Nokia 2, So lets start.
XIAOMI REDMI Y1 VS NOkIA 2
DESIGN
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has a metallic body. The all metallic back of xiaomi redmi Y1 is polished and give a premium fell however, It makes the phone slightly slippery. The overall look of the phone is awsome. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is slightly thicker at 8.6mm and heavier at 150 gm. It has a fingerprint sensor at back which works as a charm. The power and volume button is at right. There is usb port for charging and data transfer from otg, It posses 3.5 mm audio jack at top.
Nokia 2 has a polycarbonate which is good but you will miss the premium felling in this Smartphone. It is the cheapest android Smartphone of nokia. Nokia 2 misses the fingerprint scanner you will have to lock your phone via pin or pattern. Nokia 2 build quality is good and solid. It has a usb port for charging and 3.5mm audio jack for listening music via earphones or headphones.
WINNER: Xiaomi Redmi y1 because it has a metallic body which gives it a premium fell.
DISPLAY
Xiaomi redmi Y1 comes with a 5.5 hd ips display with a resolution of (720×1280) and has gorilla glass 3 protection. The display of Xiaomi redmi Y1 is sharp and clear even in the direct sunlight.
Nokia 2 support a 5 inch hd display with a resolution of (720×1280) however, It misses the gorilla glass but has a tough glass display which gives limited resistivity to scratches. Nokia 2 offers nice contrast ratio and looks sharp, In short it has one of the best display in this price segment.
WINNER: Both, because If you are looking for a large display then choose redmi Y1 and if you want a medium display with crisp and clear features you can go with Nokia 2.
PERFORMANCE AND STORAGE
Xiaomi redmi Y1 comes with 32 gb of inbuilt storage which is expandable upto 128gb via micro sd card. You will get around 24gb of free storage rest of storage is used by pre-installed apps. Redmi y1 is powered by an Octacore Snapdragon Processor 435 and is clocked at 1.4GHz which can any multi-tasking and heavy gaming with ease.
Nokia 2 comes with 8 gb of inbuilt storage which is expandable upto 128 gb via micro sd card. You will get around 5 gb of free storage. Nokia 2 is powerd by a quadcore Snapdragon 212 and is clocked at
1.2 GHz which is not capable of playing heavy games but can handle multi-tasking easily.
WINNER: Clearly Redmi Y1 beacause it has a very powerful Processor as compared to Nokia 2.
CAMERA
Xiaomi redmi Y1 bears a 13 mp rear camera with PDAF and dual tone flash. The biggest highlight of redmi Y1 is his 16 mp front camera with led selfie light. The camera of redmi Y1 is very good in day light but when it come to the low light photography this camera disappoints. The front camera works very well and clicks good selfies.
Nokia 2 bears a 8 mp rear and 5 mp front facing cameras but it can compete with any mid range Smartphone. The photos taken from Nokia 2 are very clear and crisp even in low light however, It does not posses front flash so you have to compromise with that.
WINNER: Both, because if you are a selfie buff than you can go with redmi Y1 but if you are a mature photographer than go with Nokia 2.

The main highlight of Nokia 2 is his battery which is 4100mAH. The company guarantee that this will give about 2 days of battery life but it does not posses quick charging which sets mood off. The price of Nokia 2 is
WINNER: clearly Nokia 2, Because it gives more battery backup than redmi Y1.
VERDICT
If you are looking for a smartphone which is fast, good looking and bears a fingerprint sensor you can go with redmi Y1.
However, if you are looking for a smart phone which is reasonable, brand and battery backup you can go with Nokia 2.
